The Disgruntled Chef Redux with Nat, the Spudette, Nic, Rachel and Sean

We all agreed that the overall quality of food has significantly improved since we were last here together. Excellent food, which was tasty, thoughtfully executed, and innovative; with great service.
Thanks for the treat Sean!

Welcoming the New Year at Arul's

Perfectly cooked capon, tender inside, crispy on the outside. Crispy skin due to balsamic vinegar and honey.

Slow roasted root vegetables. I was in 12th heaven with every bite.

Spicy Goanese pork vindaloo ... Arul handpounded the spices, and bought the port belly from Culina ... best home cooked meal ever.

Our contribution, mum's dried sautéed potatoes were the perfect accompaniment.

Transported by whole meal. Thanks Arul. Can't wait for the next invite!!

Cindy's homemade lemony lemon tart ... took a huge slice home for today's breakfast, balanced with a double espresso. Shiok! Good morning Singapore!!!

Awesome patatas bravas with merguez and roasted tomato aioli dip. Outstanding.

The thick cut fries served with the steamed mussels with merguez & white wine were pretty tasty too!

Baby spinach salad with grilled eggplant and marinated egg was a group favourite.

Baked bone marrow stuffed with braised oxtail, persillade & sourdough toast.

Deconstructed cheesecake ...

lemon tart and the espresso profiteroles below completed a wonderful meal.

Thanks Jothie!

Celebrating Gerry and Lay Kuan's birthdays at Artichoke, 161 Middle Road, Sculpture Square, Singapore

Mezze platter (hummus, chickpea tahini dip, baba ganoush, beetroot tzatziki, muhammara, labneh, sardine on tomato relish, and olives, served with buttered grilled turkish bread)

Lamb intercostals, Lay Kuan and my favourite dish. Two more skewers please!

Fried cauliflower, the Spudette's and Jothie's favourite dish.

Grilled haloumi served with baby tomatoes

Grilled prawns cooked in green chilli harissa cream ... more-ish sauce worth licking the cast iron pan.

Local mushroom pizza. Sounds modest, tastes awesome.

Smoked chicken. Unbelievably intense yet smooth flavour imparted by the sugar cane and cherry branches smoked with it. Totally "wat".

Christmas ham compliments of the chef. Thank you Bjorn!

Harira

The birthday girls with their salted caramel sticky date pudding and apple crumble in the foreground. Happiness for the Spudette. Back for more soon!! Thank for a lovely, amazingly delicious evening Bjorn and your team at Artichoke!!!
