Sometimes the best spuds are the ones on hand. My booty after raiding the larder at 3am Singapore (9pm Prague time).

Eats like a soup, though it looks like a stew. It not only looks good, but tastes great too!
I hope it hits the shelves in Singapore, as Spudette bought it at a special American fair promotion from Isetan, Singapore.

Last meals in Prague/Europe on the way back to Singapore

Pan-seared leg of lamb fillet, mashed potatoes with green olives, sautéed
French green beans

Omelette with fine herbs, sautéed oyster mushrooms, fingerling potatoes with parseley

And after an overnight flight... the first glimpse of home! The southern coastline of Singapore on a sunny late afternoon.

Lunch at the AMEE 2013 Conference, Prague

View of Prague (from the conference centre 4th floor) on the only sunny day throughout the AMEE 2013 conference. This is the only view of Prague for me on this trip. My deeply absorbing breakfast, lunch and tea discussions with Professors Kozu (Tokyo), Lai (Taiwan), Hooi (Singapore), Phua (Singapore), Barheim (Norway), and many old and new educational colleagues at AMEE workshops and coffee breaks have been totally engrossing and deeply engaging - Dolmans (Maastricht), Nishigori (Kyoto), Block (Israel), Lockyer (Calgary), Whitehead (Toronto), Sautter (Norway), Hiew (Melbourne), Koh (Singapore), Lau (Singapore), Norman (Hamilton, Ontario), Consorti (Rome) ... as well as my Maastricht MHPE alumni (very happy memories), and fellow members of the AMEE eLearning committee ( ... onward to the 11th APMEC, and AMEE 2014!).

The local Czech sandwich looked much less interesting than the cheesecake in the Prague Conference Centre Cafe. Lots of cheese, very little sugar.

Lunchtime crowd at the Prague Conference Centre buffet line dramatically thinning out on the second last day of the AMEE 2013 conference. Tandoori chicken topped with mint sauce accompanied by pork stew and chunks of fish cooked in workable tomato sauce on a very tasty bed of mashed potato. Heaven!

Breakfast at the Holiday Inn, Convention Centre, Prague

Trying my best to balance protein with vegetables. Sadly no spuds on the breakfast buffet spread.

Czech Cuisine at the Holiday Inn, Convention Centre, Prague

Local steak on potatoes with mushroom sauce topped with local mushrooms and side of spinach.

Thin sliced pork accompanied by oven baked potato slices with mushroom sauce.

Pan fried chicken with mash potato and side of apricots.

Tandoori chicken breast on bed of basmati rice

OK. I have been eating a lot at the conference hotel!

Project Ghim Moh Market, Singapore at 6am, August 16, 2013

The Mission: To procure Masala Dosa for breakfast.

The Destination: Ghim Moh Market at 0600. Vendors were out and the fruit and vegetables were fresh and fragrant.

Not a creature was stirring....on my way to my idea of Heaven...

actually called Heaven's Indian Curry where excellent appom (for the Spudette) and dosas (for me) await.

and here it is. Not actually an appetising picture but it was and is always delicious and a wonderful way to start my day, especially when washed down with a kopi-o. I got some takeway servings of chee cheong fun for lunch later.

Stay tuned for my eating odyssey with bangkokglutton.com this weekend.
